This some of the work I did for LOTR: Return to Moria, Yuletide Expansion.
I started by modelling the holly branches, leaves and berries traditionally in Maya, before hopping to Zbrush for a quick sculpt on the wood. I then baked these down into an atlas to create an optimised method for utilising the holly. After hand painting the textures of the atlas, I moved onto using it to create all 5 growth stages of the fantasy style holly tree. After this I utilised some existing crystal lights and baubles to decorate 2 variants of the tree. I used mash to create the chains and populate the crystal lights along them.
Then I made a wreathe and 2 strip decorations from the holly and made an additional few assets to decorate such as the pinecones, leafy sprigs, dried orange.
Finally I was provided a feasting table model which I decorated for Yuletide with the existing assets I’d made, and some extra Crackers made by Wesley Forleo.
It was a pleasure to work on such a fun pack as my final work for Free Range Games.
